Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief

Image
"Helene made landfall in Florida late evening on September 26th as a very dangerous category 4 hurricane. The impact of Helene has been felt across multiple states. With the storm surge, wind damage, and flooding, it is crucial to have the necessary resources to support the many communities that are affected. Helene caused devastating damage in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.  Your generous gifts will bring hope and encouragement. PDA is in communication with affected presbyteries and National VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active In Disaster) to share information and coordinate resources as damage is assessed. PDA has deployed a National Response Team to Tampa Bay Presbytery, Presbytery of Western North Carolina and Northeast Georgia Presbytery. We have approved several initial assistance grant requests and are anticipating additional requests from affected presbyteries to help respond to needs in their communities." - From Presbyterian Disa...

September Update: Outreach

SEPTEMBER UPDATE 2 Corinthians 5:7 " For we walk by faith,  and not by sight." Serving One Roof and Angels House We have just wrapped up an amazing month in August highlighting our Global Missions!! We packed over 14,000 meals for families globally through Rise Against Hunger; learned more about future missions with Pura Vida in Guatemala; and celebrated over 30 years working with our sister church In Merida Mexico.  Your involvement and excitement during these events displays the missionary heart of our congregation not only locally but globally.   September is here. School is back in session and the holiday season is nearly upon us!  What a wonderful time to support two of our organizations that help families and children.   One Roof, like Bridging the Gap, is desperately in need of food for those in need so we are looking for monetary donations to help them with this purchasing power to make that possible.   Angel's House, a safe have...

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers This past Sunday on August 11, 2024, 115 volunteers gathered together in Barrow Hall for a meal packing event for Rise Against Hunger.  Volunteers came together with a shared mission: to combat hunger and provide hope to communities in need. This event was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our incredible volunteers. We packed 14,256 meals!!! In the past 9 years, Newnan Presbyterian Church has packed 130,655 meals and they have provided food to places like Haiti, Sierra Leone, Philippines and Zambia.  Incredible job everyone!!! Faith truly in Action. Their efforts, along with those of many other volunteers, highlight the profound impact that a community can have when united by a common cause. These meals, often referred to as "Memorial Meals," not only provide essential nutrition but also carry the love and dedication of those who packed them. For the communities receiving these meals, they rep...

Another huge thank you for the overwhelming emergency donations from our congregation for Bridging the Gap!! We donated over $7000 to BTG which of course became $14,000 with their outside sponsor matching our donation.  They have been able to purchase pears, oranges, and apples and continue to source large quantities of vegetables.  The generosity of our church is so apprec...
