Rise Against Hunger - Thank you!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers

This past Sunday on August 11, 2024, 115 volunteers gathered together in Barrow Hall for a meal packing event for Rise Against Hunger.  Volunteers came together with a shared mission: to combat hunger and provide hope to communities in need. This event was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our incredible volunteers.

We packed 14,256 meals!!! In the past 9 years, Newnan Presbyterian Church has packed 130,655 meals and they have provided food to places like Haiti, Sierra Leone, Philippines and Zambia.  Incredible job everyone!!! Faith truly in Action.

Their efforts, along with those of many other volunteers, highlight the profound impact that a community can have when united by a common cause. These meals, often referred to as "Memorial Meals," not only provide essential nutrition but also carry the love and dedication of those who packed them. For the communities receiving these meals, they represent education, recovery, opportunity, and nourishment.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all the volunteers who participated in this event. Your commitment and compassion are the driving forces behind our mission to end hunger. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of many.
