Bridging the Gap: Donations Needed
NPC Family,
The Outreach Ministry has learned of a dire need for fruits and vegetables at Bridging the Gap. BTG is experiencing a "fresh produce drought" and the roughly 750 families that are served every week are suffering. However, because of BTG's participation with the Atlanta Food Bank, they can purchase 12 pounds of canned fruits and vegetables for every dollar we donate.
With that in mind, the Outreach Ministry is writing a check for $2500 and is challenging the congregation to match that so that we can donate $5000 to bridge this produce gap. We have also learned that BTG has an anonymous donor who will match our donation which means that our $5K can make a $10K impact. Ten thousand dollars means 120,000 pounds of food which will help BTG feed around 3000 people per week for 5 weeks.
In Matthew 25, Jesus tells us that whatever we do for the least of these, we do for him. In an effort to be good disciples, we are called to "feed the hungry." This is an opportunity to fill a drastic need to feed hungry people in Coweta County.
If you would like to participate in this emergency opportunity you can give in the following ways: Cash or Check donation in the offering plate on Sunday - please indicate BTG. You can also click here to give directly and securely through our church website.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping our congregation put our faith in Christ into action.
