Coweta Samaritan Clinic

Image
Jan is our month to highlight The Coweta Samaritan Clinic and we are so excited to have such a strong partnership with this incredible organization. In 2025, Newnan Presbyterian Church played a vital role in supporting the Coweta Samaritan Clinic through generous giving, service, and hands-on involvement. NPC members provided essential toiletries and canned food items for patients, offered faithful financial support, and volunteered their time and talents through the Clinic’s Board of Directors, Dental Services, and major fundraising events. Most notably, the church made an extraordinary $135,000 gift to help establish and equip the Clinic’s new onsite Dental Services program, which opened in July 2025. This contribution funded critical dental equipment, furnishings such as dental chairs and cabinetry, and other necessities that will allow the Clinic to provide critically needed dental care for patients. This remarkable act of generosity has been truly transformational for the Clinic, ...

Christmas in Coweta

Image
Christmas in Coweta During this Christmas season, it is a joy and honor for Outreach and our Youth to partner in participation with Christmas in Coweta in association with Bridging the Gap. This year, NPC supported seven children ranging in age from 2 yrs to 12 yrs. Kate Morrison summed up it well: "One of the best parts about Christmas in Coweta is knowing we are buying for kids who might not get much otherwise. Most of the year, these kids don't really get the things they want because their families are just trying to provide what they need. Being the ones who get to pick out things specifically from their 'wishlist' makes this shopping trip extra special. I have found through the years of shopping for these families how much more meaningful it is to be able to give than to receive.  This is the one youth event that I never want to miss! I always leave with such a full heart knowing that our church and our community are making such a big impact on so many families ...

Blessing of the Animals

Image
The annual Blessing of the Animals at Newnan Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October 12th, was a wonderful celebration, welcoming beloved pets from dogs and cats to an impressive horse. A vital component of this joyous event was the collection of generous donations for the Newnan Coweta Humane Society (NCHS) and CORRAL, the Coweta Organization for Riding, Rehabilitation and Learning. This event beautifully honors the unconditional love and joy that companion animals bring to their human families.  The much-needed financial and supply contributions directly support the NCHS's mission of rescuing and rehoming homeless pets and aid CORRAL in providing therapeutic horseback riding for individuals with physical and mental challenges. The significance of the blessing extends beyond a simple prayer, serving as a powerful reminder of humanity's role as stewards of all God's creation, following the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi. By hosting such an inclusive ceremony and coordi...
