2025 Guatamala Work Trip


Here is a link for the Trip Application for our 2025 June work trip to Guatemala.  As you know, we will be traveling with a youth team from Salida Presbyterian Church in Colorado, but Newnan will have a separate worksite.

You will notice on the trip page that there are opportunities for people to support the trip as Virtual Team members (blue box).  People who are unable to travel but would like to support the efforts can be Virtual members.  They will receive email updates and photos daily during the trip, and weekly until the project is complete.  (NPC was a virtual team member on Josefina's home last July).  


There is also a yellow box where people can donate any amount.  Any donations of $250 or more will automatically be added to the Virtual Team.  
Their $1000 deposits should be made by check and held at the church until we have 6 team members.  Dec 31 is the deadline for the first 6 team members.  Others can be added after that.

  A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers This past Sunday on August 11, 2024, 115 volunteers gathered together in Barrow Hall for a meal packing event for Rise Against Hunger.  Volunteers came together with a shared mission: to combat hunger and provide hope to communities in need. This event was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our incredible volunteers. We packed 14,256 meals!!! In the past 9 years, Newnan Presbyterian Church has packed 130,655 meals and they have provided food to places like Haiti, Sierra Leone, Philippines and Zambia.  Incredible job everyone!!! June Focus: Summer of Service

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith.  And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.   During the summer we encourage you to find your Faith in Action. You can serve someone in need; help out in your neighborhood; contact one of our non profit partners or join us in our Care Group for Service. June we will serving Hope Global with a Block Party again this year! We had so much fun playing and eating with the children last year that we are excited to do it again this year! Stay tuned for date and details. Upcoming: Save the Dates July 22-26: Service Project: BTG Summer Lunch Program--we will once again serve lunches to local kids in the CJ Smith park August: we will celebrate Global Missions and highlight Merida, Pura Vida, and Rise Against Hunger is back this year on August 11th during the service!!

Pura Vida Ministries Summer 2024 Update

Our July English Camp and Construction teams have arrived in Chichicastenango and are preparing for the work week. Travel began for our teams on the 4th of July and included being picked up at the Guatemala City airport in our chicken bus, 'Super Nina' (see photo below), and one night's stay in Antigua. This morning our team enjoyed a tour of Ecofiltro Guatemala.
